A group effort between businesses, individuals and volunteers, we raised money from a variety of sources. A facade improvement grant was accessed and further money was raised by offering tiered investment to the public. A lower cost tier would get your name painted into the mural and a higher cost donation bought a place on the mural for your favorite pet. Spudcrow heads were also sold. (Spudcrows are Derry’s version of scarecrows)
The wonderful Alana and Andy from The Cask & Vine in Derry, NH had a big blank wall on the side of their restaurant. Being that they are located within the historic district they thought a mural that highlighted some of Derry’s historic places would be a great idea for that wall. I thought so too and began a design. Long story short, we were granted permission and this is it!
